A Note About Our Name |
In a stroke of genius, we've decided to change the name of our aviation "club" from CAST to CAT, and in so doing maintain the Cougar theme which is of course the school's mascot.
Clever? The credit goes mainly to Michaela Warren who showed leadership qualities as well as creativity while a team member of the 2014 Aviation Design Challenge. There will naturally be a transition phase where either name will show up on occasion.

Being A Part of CAT
The Countryside Aerospace Team "CAT" is the extracurricular component of our aerospace program. A student does not need to take the Introduction to Aerospace Science class in order to participate in CAT. Students who do take the Intro to Aerospace course, will be encouraged to participate in CAT as well.
Students who compete in an aviation based contest for Countryside Academy are expected to be an official member of CAT.
We have competed in the Aviation Design Challenge twice. You can learn more about those efforts under the Introduction to Aerospace tab.
Plans for the 2015-2016 school year are "in process". It has been a few years since we have been able to offer the Aerospace class. That may change for this school year. Regardless, we do intend to have CAT active after school. Options include another contest, work on the plane projects, drone photography, field trips.
Not going to Oshkosh in the summer of 2015 is a disappointment that is best met with a determination to go in 2016.
