One Step at a time
Safety for you, everyone around you, and the machine
Aerospace students want to fly. This will be the primary objective of most students who take this class. Excellent. I want you to fly. I also want you to develop the skills to care for a complex machine so that it can be flown by many students after you.

Each student will have a copy of the owners manuel. The manuel should stay with the drone. An online copy can be found here.
I've listed a few video links for the Ethos. You should check these out.

Regulations
There are many many regulations for things that fly. The number of regs will only increase.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has much to say about drones, here. The technology seems to have caught governing authorities off guard.
Drones in the News. If you were in a science class last Spring (2015), you may remember that I predicted you'd be seeing drones everywhere by this summer.
Indeed, they are. Many of these flights are in violation of federal regulations. Many are just rude and rude has a way of leading to more regulations.
I'll expect my Aerospace Students to keep up with the evolution of drone regulation.
